Police Attend Spring Fair to Help Raise Money for Elderly

Local residents and children visited the open house at the South Carshalton Senior Centre’s spring fair on Friday 31st May. They stopped by to buy raffle tickets and sale goods in order to help raise money for meals out and a trip to the seaside for local elderly people.

The centre in Oaks Way caters for around 80-100 people aged 60 plus during the week offering a range of activities such as arts and crafts.
Along with their Christmas party, bingo, table sales and raffles, the spring fair is one of the fund raising activities, which aims at raising £1,000 for special treats during the year. These include a coach trip to West Wittering beach in West Sussex, which has been planned for August 2013, teh cleaners in Sutton said.

Kathy Morgan, manager at the centre in Oaks Way, thanked the public for their support and for helping the centre to fund all their activities. She also expressed gratitudes to the volunteers who are keeping the centre running.
PCSOs Mario Palermo, who regularly attends the centre to talk about crime prevention and personal safety, said that the fair was a great success, with plenty going on, with lots to eat and music to listen to. "
